April 24th - Bring article of clothing to present Students were asked a couple weeks ago to think of an article of clothing that is important to them in preparation for this presentation. They do not need to wear it, as maybe the article of clothing is from when they were a baby. Each student will explain to the class why this article is important to them. This goes with the third chapter from Alive in the Spirit entitled : Clothed in Christ
11-13 slides due Monday april 8th in their google Slide project
Lent March - April Students have a Google Slide to work on throughout Lent. As we take notes, students have more slides they complete (orange sheets).
Alive in Spirit March-April-May Leading up to Confirmation, we will be working through the booklet and the rituals. Confirmation: May 7th Retreat: April 3rd at the church all day
Students voted to have their unit exam february 19th. A list of what to study was written on the board for students to copy. We will do some review in class to prepare. We will listen to the remainder of the projects this week.
Presentations will continue until all students have shared their project related to the commandments with the class. Students should be practicing to recite the commandments from both the new and old testament. Shared in a Google Doc and a hard copy was given to each student. Once the presentation are done, this unit will be wrapping up. we will be watching the prince of Egypt.
Last day to complete project related to the commandments was January 21st. The minimum project is Project A. It is Due by Wednesday January 23rd. There is a detailed document (Google Doc) with the requirements shared in Google Docs.
January 2ist tests were returned to students. Please sign and have your child return it to school Thursday. If a student received a score below 50% in any of the 3 parts, they are required to do a retest on Thursday January 24th. The retest is only for the part with a mark inferior to 50%. It will be indicated on their test if a retest is needed. A student can choose to redo a part even if they achieved a mark of 50% or higher.
Past Due: ADvent google slide Project PArt a and PArt B are due by thursday January 10th. PArt A was due before christmas. students will have some time to work on project b in class wednesday.
Test January 14th - Mauve sheets to study and-or the information in the Google Slide project above. Topic- Advent and epiphany and the Christmas story
Advent - Project A to be completed By December 17th: information and pictures on each slide Minimum length = 13 slides (All the notes were provided to the students. They copied them on purple sheets.) Detailed explanation shared in Google Docs of the project requirements.
Google Slide Projects Half of the 10 Commandment project A should be complete by December 12th. Everyone should have started the advent project. At least 3 slides should be completed by DEcember 12th. Help Stuff a Bus! Send items to school. (unwrapped gift, toiletries, non PERISHABLE food items)
THree assignments due using Google docs - November 27th. (S-V-A, Summary, Oui ou Non) Each student has a Google Doc shared with them explaining the Oui ou Non assignment. Not sure if your child is done? Ask him-her to show you. Even if it is in French you will be able to see if they are done.
A new Google Slide project was explained and shared the week of November 26th. Students on Par with the above assignments have started.
By November 19th students must have completeD typing their questions related to Moses (between 5 and 10 questions).
Missing Religion tests to be signed and returned as soon as possible. Agendas are to be signed every evening. Agendas are supposed to go and from school every day. THis is an important routine to establish.

We are starting our next unit that will Focus on the story of Moses.
We are wrapping up the first unit "You Are My Friends". Next Thursday October 11th students will have a test based on this unit as well being able to demonstrate their ability to use their New Testament. We have been practicing this since the beginning of the school year.
Sacrament Forum --- See dates under home tab It is very important that you attend to register your child if they are going to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring of 2019.
Card to complete at home for a new student no later than September 26th.
During the month of September students will be discussing and carrying out ways to make new members To our St Gerard school family feel welcomed.
We will be reading stories from the New Testament that demonstrate how Jesus was a good friend to others and how we too should follow his example.
Students will also be reviewing how to use their New Testament to locate different passages for example.
