April 23rd - Bring article of clothing to present
Students were asked a couple weeks ago to think of an article of clothing that is important to them in preparation for this presentation.
They do not need to wear it as maybe the article of clothing is from when they were a baby.
Each student will explain to the class why this article is important to them.

CONFIRMATION RETREAT ALL DAY AT THE CHURCH APRIL 16th
Today we had a presentation from three individuals involved in the Bear Lake Growing Project.
They support the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Over the last few months students have done the recycling of bottles and cans for grade 6 and grade 7 classrooms. The students from 6C were able to sponsor 2 acres. Each acre requires a sponsorship of $200.
The field this year is located on your way to Sexsmith at the intersection of Mercer Hill - north west of the intersection behind a shop. Once the crop is in, students can go visit 'their' field during the various phases. I will receive an invitation when it is time to harvest the crop in the fall "Harvest Day". I will pass along this information to the students.
They will post pictures they took with the students on their Facebook page.

Not sure if your child is done? Ask him - her to show you the three different Google Docs.
Students should have started a new project in Google Slides this week with of the exception of those who are late in completing their 3 Google Doc assignments. It is important for your child to catch up as he-she will fall further behind.
Students were given more independent time to work on their assignments related to the story of Moses. Thursday, November 22nd all students are expected to have 3 assignments completed. As long as your child has been keeping up with the due dates for each assignment, your child should not suddenly have 3 assignments to complete.

2 assignments due
The one that was due November 15th and the summary for one passage from the story of Moise. Students could choose 1 of 5 different passages that we read and discussed in class. These are both Google Doc assignments.
Parent Teacher Interviews November 2018
Tuesday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Wednesday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
I will have a sign in sheet just outside my office. My office is room 113 (by the classroom know as the
"fish bowl"). You simply sign up for your 10 minute interview on the day you have chosen to come for interviews.
It is on a first come first serve basis.
By November 15th students must complete typing their questions related to Moses (between 5 and 10 questions).
Summary of one part of the story of Moses must be completed or nearly done. Each student was able to choose 1 from 5 parts we read and discussed together in class. If you are not sure if your child is done, ask him or her to show you their Google Doc for each of these assignments.
At this time we are reading the story of Moses. We have read 4 parts of the story together thus far.
For each part, students are expected to identify and write 5 vocabulary words in their section entitled 'Vocabulary: Moise'. They need a minimum of 20.
After each part of the story students write jot notes. We did the first two together. Students provided what they thought were the key elements. Students simply had to copy what I wrote based on their contributions from the board. The third one was discussed and students had to write their own jot notes. For the fourth part, students were expected to independently write jot notes after we had read and discussed the story as a group.
At this time your child should not have any related work to do at home as long as they were not absent and keep up as time is provided in class.
Typed summary will be due by Thursday October 25th.
It is to be completed as a Google Doc.
If you do not have access to a printer your child can print at school
Google Doc title: Name Last Name 6A résumé
